Our Vision

We believe in the value of independent stewards of the countryside who live and work on their land with long term goals beyond short term profit. We believe in family farms defined as farms that would be fundamentally changed if their owner families lived elsewhere or didn’t participate in the farming activities, and conversely the families would be fundamentally different if they didn’t live on the farm and participate in the farm activities; in other words the circumstances of the family/owners and their farm are mutually dependent on the presence of one another.

The goods produced on this land need to be produced with a methodology that ensures the best use and preservation of all natural resources within the local ecosystem. Once established this kind of farm can be a link in a kind of patchwork of like-minded business models that work in a local economy and are the origin of pathways that provide food for people anywhere on the planet that share in this philosophy. This chain of economic interdependencies will result in the creation of economies that are independent of outside calamity.
